Last week, I pulled Soccer Girl out of school before the end of the day. I had a good reason.
She was going back to her elementary school. Specifically to visit her 4th grade teacher who is now her brother’s kindergarten teacher. No, she isn’t standing on a box in the picture above, that is the height differential between the two.
Of course, she also had a little bit of work to do. We were there to read to the class.
We picked an “Elephant and Piggie” book by family favorite Mo Willems. This time, it was “We Are In A Book!“ I read the part of Elephant, Girl was Piggie, and Boy was “The Reader”. We were asked to read it again, we did such a good job. Of course, if you know the book, you’ll realize the joke in all that.
Our second book was picked from the classroom pile. It was “Don’t Eat The Teacher!” Can’t go wrong with books with exclamation points in the title.
We had a great time. The class loved the books. And Girl got to connect with an old friend. Pretty great day in my book!

These are the memories that will stay with you forevah!
You bet. It was worth it to get a photo of them not strangling each other. you would think that 7 years between them would make a difference, but I guess not.
